PRE- AND POST-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

1. Neurotoxins (e.g., Botox, Dysport)

  • Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, other blood-thinning medications, and supplements such as fish oil or vitamin E for about one week before your scheduled procedure unless otherwise directed by your doctor.
  • Avoid alcohol for 24-48 hours before treatment.
  • Inform your practitioner if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Post-injection, avoid lying down or bending over for at least four hours.
  • Do not massage or apply pressure to the treated areas.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
  • Avoid sun exposure or tanning beds.

2. Dermal fillers (HA)

  • As with neurotoxins, avoid blood-thinning medications or supplements for about one week prior.
  • Inform your practitioner about any allergies or if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Do not massage or touch the treated area for 24 hours.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise, sun exposure, saunas, or hot tubs for 24-48 hours.
  • Swelling or bruising is normal; you can use a cold pack to reduce it.

3. Microneedling

  • Avoid direct sun exposure for about 24-48 hours before treatment.
  • Ensure your face is clean and free from make-up, sunscreen, and products.
  • Expect redness similar to a sunburn.
  • Use a gentle cleanser and hydrating products.
  • Don’t expose yourself to direct sunlight, and use sunscreen when necessary.
  • Avoid make-up for 24 hours.

4. Chemical peels

  • Stop using retinol or other exfoliating products 5-7 days before treatment.
  • Avoid waxing, electrolysis, or other depilatory methods a week before.
  • Your skin may peel or flake, which is normal. Do not pick or peel it off manually.
  • Use a gentle cleanser.
  • Avoid sun exposure and always use sunscreen.
  • Do not use any strong skincare products until your skin has fully healed.

5. PDO Threads

  • Avoid blood-thinning medications or supplements for about one week prior.
  • Ensure your face is clean and free from make-up and skincare products.
  • Avoid rubbing or massaging the treated area.
  • Sleep on your back.
  • Limit facial expressions for a few days.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure.

6. PRP/Exosomes

  • Hydrate well before the procedure (especially for PRP, since it involves drawing blood).
  • Avoid blood-thinning medications or supplements for about one week prior.
  • Depending on where the PRP was used, specific instructions can vary. Generally, avoid strenuous activity and direct sun exposure.
  • For facial treatments, avoid make-up for 24 hours.
  • Use gentle skincare products and avoid exfoliants until healing is complete.
